World women’s day
March 8 has been established as World Women’s Day, and Zorbas Bakeries honour this important occasion by offering meaningful support to Europa Donna Cyprus.
Zorbas Bakeries present the “Self-care” biscuit, with the iconic pink ribbon — the global symbol of breast cancer awareness. The biscuit is made with the pure ingredients of love, respect, and the timeless values that define Zorbas Bakeries, while serving as a reminder to all women to prioritise their own health.
This year’s campaign, “Self-Care Is a Right,” highlights the stereotypes surrounding women’s resilience and their many roles — stereotypes that have led women to put themselves and their care, last.
Research shows that women’s symptoms are often questioned, which can lead to self-doubt, while society continues to reinforce the idea that endurance and tolerance are expected of them.

Phrases that nearly every woman has heard, often leading her to stay silent and neglect her own needs and well-being.
The goal of this initiative is to send an even stronger message about the importance of prevention, emphasising that self-care is a right.
The “Self-care” biscuit is available at all Zorbas Bakeries across Cyprus, and €0.50 from every purchase will be donated to Europa Donna Cyprus, specifically to support the “Together on Wednesdays” workshops, which focus on empowering women with a cancer experience.

This initiative aims to enhance well-being through a holistic and experiential approach. In a safe and supportive environment, every woman who has experienced cancer can step away from the pressures of daily life and reconnect with herself in a meaningful way.
At the same time, the workshops place strong emphasis on creativity, offering tools and activities that encourage free expression and imagination. Through these sessions, participants build self-confidence, self-esteem, and trust in their personal strengths, empowering them to make conscious choices and continue to grow.
